| about me
I am a Freelance Designer and Community Artist. I am also an Art & Design teacher (De Montfort University - PGCE Art and Design) and I have taught Art, Drama, and EFL in the UK, Poland and Spain. I studied my BA in Decorative Arts at The Nottingham Trent University with a specialism in print and surface pattern. I really enjoy exploring the many avenues within the Arts, and have had both solo and collective exhibitions in the UK, Spain and Italy. Working as a Community Artist, enables me to share my skills and enthusiasm at a more didactic level. I have had the opportunity to work as part of a creative team on worthwhile campaigns such as; 'Anti-Bullying' and also work with excluded youths. Whilst living in Spain for 4 years I had the opportunity to work within a nationally recognized Arts group, specializing in working with people that have physical and mental disabilities. I am continuing this with voluntary work in a mental health day unit. Art is a useful and essential tool for recovery and exploration for myself, as well as others. I personally feel that all of these experiences are somehow reflected within my art work, showing my life journey.
