Italian ouverture On July 1st 2008, Anna Maria Michalska held her first Italian exhibition, which took place at Palazzo Pigozzi in Pieve di Coriano (Italy). Enjoying a purely Renaissance atmosphere provided by the venue’s history-rich rooms, the opening day of the exhibition was attended by a remarkable crowd of visitors and critics, also receiving a noticeable attention from local and national press. During the private view of the exhibition a brief and intense speech was given by Mr. Lanfranco, the undisputed master of Italian surrealism, who had soft and poignant words on Anna’s work, defining her painting style as “pure and gentle power, which manages to merge the push towards modernity with the ancient, ageless pagan rite of inspiration searching.”. Anna Maria was supported by the talented Swiss director Christian Anderegg. The two artist had collaborated on an enriching unusual piece of artwork documenting the creating process of Anna’s work (www.drehherd.ch).
