Anna Maria Michalska – The emotion of colours

I am a British artist and art teacher. And I have been fortunate to spend my personal and artistic life in England, Poland, Spain, Italy and Switzerland. Living and working within a creative ambience, has enabled me to explore several avenues both didactically and personally within my art.

I was born in Leicester, UK, in 1975. I studied Decorative Arts at Nottingham Trent University, with a specialism in Print design and surface pattern. Later becoming an Art teacher.

My inspiration, comes from the natural world, anthropology, alternative therapy.

And I hold a deep respect for artists like Hilda af Klint, Dali, Chagall, Frida Kahlo and an incredibly inspiring artist, one of the master’s of the Italian surrealism, Lanfranco who I was fortunate to meet.
My life has woven my creative work into where I am today. My teaching experiences. The people I have met along the way. Subjects I’ve taught. Areas I’ve studied. Have all enriched my current work.

For a while now, I have felt a strong spiritual calling to intuitively allow all of my experiences (including my essential oil and colour therapy work) to use the complete entity as a healing tool for myself and others.

Intuitively being guided to explore colour, light and movement. The Images created from these experiences are profound yet tactile, strong yet sublime. Layers of colour, evolving from the canvas create a true deepness and an interest with varying viewpoints, allowing the viewer feel absorbed within.
