I was sent a fascinating and brilliant article about the connections between the heart and none thinking guidance.
It connects the dots between something I have felt for such a long time.
The article is about Dr. J. Andrew Armour who is renowned for discovering and defining the concept of the “heart brain”—the idea that the heart has its own complex nervous system capable of processing information independently of the brain.
He is a pioneer in neurocardiology, the study of how the heart and nervous system interact. Armour introduced the term heart brain, showing that the heart contains a network of neurons, neurotransmitters, and proteins that allow it to learn, remember, and feel.
So much of our rhetoric is guided by verbal expressions of I think, or I don’t mind. Very much head based thinking.
As a child, I knew intrinsically that I was guided by heart, that I felt a different sense I can understand that now, with the logical adult brain.
But this inner guidance is in fact, a very intuitive and supportive system. Known as a day dreamer in the classroom. This process of brain disconnect allowed me to reconnect to my essence. Something that actually and fortunately hasn’t been lost into adulthood.
It is really an opportunity to create space non tangible. Non verbal. We have so much to consider here. But for now I feel the best path is to simply to continue follow that essence of heart.
